Latest Innovation of Heathy Seasoning Ingredients

Thai foods are famous for pungent and savory tastes. Seasoning ingredients have been enhancements for Thai food since the ancient time. However, to add too much seasoning ingredients can cause consumers to have too much Sodium, which leads to high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, paralysis, paresis and kidney diseases.

Even though necessary for balancing body cells and helping nervous system and muscles function normally, Sodium, consumed in too great an amount, can cause the body to lose water balance and absorb water into blood vessels, which eventually leads to high blood pressure. World Health Organization (WHO) clearly recommends that one should consume Sodium for no more than 2.4 grams per or Sodium Chloride in the form of salt for no more than 6 grams a day (around a little more than 1 teaspoon a day only)!! Nevertheless, the fact is that, each day, in average, Thai people consume Sodium for 2 – 4 folds of the recommended amount from seasoning ingredients added while cooking and eating, such as fish sauce, soy sauce, seasoning sauces and MSG. Furthermore, there is also hidden Sodium in non-salty foods such as bakery, bread and cookies that contain baking powder (Sodium bicarbonate), canned foods and processed foods that contain preservatives that are composed of Sodium.

It is apparent that, currently, there have been low-sodium seasoning products that use Potassium salt instead in the market. However, such products may not suit every member in a family. For patients with certain diseases such as kidney failure with hyperkalemia or people who have to take certain medicines that increase Potassium amount in their bodies regularly, to consume Potassium may increase the amount of Potassium in their blood which may cause cardiac arrhythmia or even death.

Even tough there have been academic works that suggest that Potassium can decrease high blood pressure in people who do not have kidney diseases, the suggestion is that one should consume Potassium from natural sources such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains that Thai people have been consuming. It is inadvisable to consume additional synthetic Potassium such as Potassium in seasoning ingredients.

Furthermore, at present, there have been many campaigns to encourage people to take healthier foods; however, It iOS also discovered that most seasoning products contain preservatives, and synthetic colors and flavors, such as MSG, Disodium 5-ribonucleotide and artificial sweeteners, which may not safe for health if consumed in a great amount or consecutively for too long. From all the aforementioned issues, we have had intention to develop food-seasoning products that have low Sodium and no additional Potassium, sugar or any other sweetener, which can be used for cooking Thai food with the conservation of the deliciousness that is the identity of Thai foods without causing bad effects in health. These products are for all of your beloved ones in your families.
